Letterpress printing has endured for centuries as one of the most beautiful ways to put text on paper. It is a wonderfully versatile craft, ideal for combining type and imagery. In this half-day workshop you and a friend will be introduced to the basics of letterpress, including how to set and print from wood and metal type, operating the flatbed cylinder press, choosing paper, mixing ink and working safely on the press.

The session is perfect for complete beginners as well as those with some previous experience, all in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We will tailor the workshop to you, whether you are bringing an idea to life, creating work for a university project, or simply printing your dream poster to hang on the wall.

Each person will leave with a finished poster or set of cards to take home.

It makes a lovely afternoon to spend with a friend, and a perfect, unique gift for anyone interested in letterpress. Free tea, coffee and cake are included.

Cancellations:
Deposits and payments are refundable or transferable if we receive a minimum of 10 days' notice of any changes. With under 10 days' notice, a fee of £40 will be taken. The course fee needs to be paid in full before the class.
